What we're looking for
Essays, memoirs, oral histories, and anything that surprises us.
Long Play is listener driven just like the cassette liner notes. We are interested in what sound does to people, how memory is stamped with the sound of music, how sound changes lives and how sound can be home far from home. We take a broad view of sound as it is experienced and are open to all categories including music, podcasts and audiobooks.
We especially welcome pitches from new writers from around the world.

What to send
Completed works only. We do not commission from pitches at this stage. Send us the finished thing and we'll get back to you if we think it's a good fit.

Plain text or a Google Doc link. No PDFs.
Response time
We read everything. We will get back to you. It may take a while.
Rights
You keep full ownership and are free to publish your work anywhere else. By submitting, you grant us a licence to publish and archive it on Long Play.
