Sounds that define me
This album was first recommended to me by someone I went to high school with, who's in our school band and is an incredible bass player. I've always looked up to him, and we reconnected after college in New York City. I think it was during a jam session that he invited me to, where I was asking him for recommendations for jazz-soul albums, and he pointed this one my way.
Something about this record is so filling, as in it fills my cup. It's warm and uplifting, yet totally present within the times it was created. The past couple years, after college, I lived in New York and then moved to LA. I love that the album was recorded in both The Troubadour and The Bitter End. That represents some bridge between these places for me and the journey that I'm on.
